Gymnastics Classes at Children’s Tumbling

Since 1978, Children’s Tumbling has been the premier gymnastic and tumbling center in lower Manhattan. Offering, from toddler to pre-teen, unique classes designed to inspire creativity as well as instill a strong technical foundation. All classes at Children’s Tumbling incorporate popular themes, music and exciting costumes to stimulate each child’s imagination. Classes are small to ensure each student receives individualized instruction to foster personal development. Imaginative movement stories are integrated with basic movement and gymnastic skills, exploration of shapes and dynamics, partner work and exercises on the floor and apparatus.Developing physical confidence and natural ease of movement is basic to the approach. The variety of activities encourages flexibility and creativity assuring that each child meets his own level of achievement.

Toddlers climb large mats, swing on trapeze and rings, jump on the trampoline and play with equipment that encourages their gross motor skill. They learn the basics of tumbling in each class. Older Children focus on advanced basics and choreographed floor exercises, work with props and apparatus such as rhythmic ribbons, hoops, tightrope, trapeze, circus web, aerial silk and stilts.

Coaching and private lessons, which typically focus on a specific skill or project, can also be arranged.

Trial classes are offered pending availability in the first two weeks of a session.
